FOLLOW OUR FLOWER CARE TIPS
STEP ONE | OPEN
OPEN YOUR FLOWERS
Your flowers come in a cardboard box. This is to protect them on their journey.
The flowers are wrapped in recycled paper and string to protect them during transit and a hydration source which allows them to drink water on their journey.
Please remove all packaging and reuse or recycle.
The green hydration source can be dried out and reused, or recycled.
The cardboard box can be recycled. You can also drop this back to us and we will reuse. If you are Dublin based you can leave the box out for our delivery driver and he will collect the next time he's delivering your flowers.
Pets also love the cardboard box! A place to sleep, hide and play.
STEP TWO | TRIM
TRIM YOUR FLOWER STEMS
We have already trimmed the flower stems for you, but when they arrive we recommend trimming them again. For best flower care cut your stems at a diagonal.
We recommend to cut about 1cm from the bottom of the stems at a 45-degree angle. This stops the stems from resting on the bottom of the vase and increases their surface area.
This allows the flowers to drink up plenty of water.
For best flower care we recommend to trim your stems every time you change your vase water.
STEP THREE | SOAK
PLACE YOUR FLOWERS IN WATER
Place flowers in a vase of fresh water, large enough to allow the flowers to breathe and drink. Fill two thirds of the vase with clean fresh water.
Replace the water every 2 - 3 days and cut the stems when changing the water. Flowers can be very thirsty so for best flower care be sure to check your water level daily.
Some flowers will last longer than others.
For best flower care we recommend to remove any flowers that become past their best so they do not affect the other flowers or contaminate the water.
STEP FOUR | BLOOM
STEP BACK AND WATCH YOUR FLOWERS BLOOM
Place your flowers in a vase and watch them bloom. You will notice that some flowers last longer than others.
As flowers begin to wilt we recommend removing any wilted flowers from the arrangement as they will contaminate the water and this will affect your other flowers.
For best flower flower care we recommend placing your flowers in a cool bright room. Be sure to avoid direct heat sources like radiators and sunlight as they will cause your flowers to wilt faster.
We love to see pictures of your flowers in their new homes! Tag us @thecrateflowers to be in with a chance to win a bunch!
